Ok so this sounds weird but see what you think... when i am asleep at night I sometimes find that...?

I am actually awake %26 have been for some minutes. I feel disorientated %26 dont know where I am or what I am doing. Sometimes I am even speaking a load of nonsense.
I have always been a very light, bad sleeper. Should this be of concern to me? (Only helpful answers please)
Answer:
Actually, it doesn't sound wierd, so don't be too hard on yourself.

It might be a sleep disorder, especially if you have always been a very light, bad sleeper. Let me ask a few questions.

Are you often tired during the day?

Do you often have trouble waking up in the morning?

Do you usually wake up and find that your sheets and blankets have been pulled over to one side of the bed or have been kicked on to the floor?

Do these things happen even when you haven't had a lot of caffeine during the day?

If you answer yes, then you might have a sleep disorder. Best way to find out is to talk to your primary care doctor. He or she may ask you to try a few lifestyle changes before getting tested for sleep disorders, such as cutting out caffeine, getting more exercise, or practicing good sleep hygiene. Try whatever he or she suggests. If you're still not getting good sleep dependably, then insist on seeing a sleep specialist.

I have two sleep disorders: obstructve sleep apnea and periodic limb movement in sleep. Getting them treated has turned out to be one of the best things I've ever done.

Check out this website for information on how to get a good night's sleep:

Maybe its a form of sleep walking. Get it checked out.
i dont think so...im not an expert or anything, but i dont think its anything to worry about. sometimes i get that feeling too.although not so much disorientated.

maybe you're just sleeping with your eyes slightly open. iknow loads of people that do that(not completely open, but kind of a-jar) and when you wake it, it feels like youve been awake, coz u dont need to open your eyes

thats prob all it is, but like i said, im no expert.
it could also be your medication =talk to your Dr about it
I think if this has been continuing for a long time then you should see a doctor about some sleep meds. Some sleep meds, alot, are addictive, so ask about which ones would be right for you.
nah,.sounds fine to me
I think that you should go to the doctor. It could be something serious. I was watching a show and a similar thing happened to a girl. She ended up hurting someone very badly. So I recommend you seeing a doctor.
I actually had the same problem a little while back. I didn't really think it was anything weird, but the light sleeping just took a toll on my days and I was sleepy all through the day. Then I started going to the gym since last Tuesday and having an hour or two hour workout every day or every other day. And since then, its like when I go to bed I drop dead and sleep so heavily that I have no clue what's going on around me and when I wake up I'm all refreshed. I'd recommend you try that. If you're already working out, try increasing your time and effort spent there. I promise you you'll sleep like a baby.
The definition of a mental disorder is when the issue or the behavior becomes dysfunctional and makes it very difficult for the client to live a normal life. If this behavior, occurring at night as it does, leads to dysfunctional behavior, then you should see a doctor or mental health professional.

If not, but if you are worried about the quality of your sleep, I suggest you talk to your medical doctor about a sleep aid.

Maybe you're like me..

I sometimes dream that I'm laying in bed awake and can't sleep.

I know it sounds weird but it's obvious the next day because if I'd really been awake all night I'd be dog tired and I'm not. It took me a while to figure that out though.
It's only a problem if you spend the next day very tired, in which case you may need medication.
don't worry completely normal;
i take anti-epileptics and that's how i feel in the morning.
but if your not on medication then get your bum round to a doctor.even if it's nothing..peace of mind is a great cure.
I sleep light and sometimes it feels as if someone or something is breathing heavy around my neck, and wake up in a cold sweat. Always in the middle of the night and I don`t know what this is down to .!!
maybe try sleeping in a different position ,i know someone that has done this as soon as they roll over they stop doing it ,good luck in trying!.
I would discuss it with your doctor especially since it may interfear with your ability to get a restful nights sleep, you may need a sleep study to determine what your brain is doing while you are sleeping. This will help them determine what is going on and if you need intervention. But not getting restful sleep can be detrimental to your health in the long run so it's worth looking into.
I had a similar problem.

But, my answer to u, is basically a religious answer, which can be crazy to others, so if u wanna know more. Just messege me on yahoo messenger.
